IT Cooling and VRF solution
Client: Sony Playstation Consultant: CBRE, Manchester Fit-out Contractor: ADT Workplace AC Contractor: Pulse Project Solutions, Manchester
Kooltech worked closely with CBRE, global leader in commercial real estate services and Pulse Project Solutions to deliver a new HVAC solution, including an IT cooling system to the new Sony Playstation offices in Liverpool, formerly the home of the Liverpool Echo Newspaper.
Project Description: The project comprises of 8 Mitsubishi Electric VRF units linked to 12 Box Controllers, factory fitted with K-con port isolation valves to allow for easy service and maintenance and if need be future expansion. The isolation of specific valves means the system can continue running whilst being worked on by engineers. K-con Acoustic Jackets were a requirement on the Box Controllers that are in exposed ceiling areas to reduce the noise. As this project is in a coastal area the VRF units are coated with Bronze-Glow saline treatment to protect the coils from corrosion. Enthusiastic Gamers will be pleased that a Mitsubishi Electric I-Next IT cooling system has been installed to ensure the servers are in safe hands.
Kooltech Involvement: The Kooltech Northern Projects team were involved with the design from the outset and participated in careful selection of the Mitsubishi Electric equipment and introduced K-con Bespoke AC solutions to tailor the system to the clients specific requirements. This team also supported the installation sub-contractors by providing take-offs and delivery of installation materials. Finally a Kooltech Engineer was on site to commission the VRF system and we shipped in Mitsubishi Electric Engineers, to commission the I-Next IT Cooling. This is the second Sony Playstation office which Kooltech have supplied Mitsubishi Electric and K-con, the previous office being located in Wavertree.
